Hospital routines can help or hinder new mothers and babies while they’re learning to breastfeed (see Phillip et al. 2001, Merewood et al. 2003, Merewood et al. 2005). In accordance with this finding, CHAMPS aims to work with hospitals to increase compliance with the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. Below you will find a description of the resources provided for physicians, nurses, other health care providers including hospital administrators interested in pursuing baby friendly designation or seeking to improve overall maternity care practices.
