Baby-Friendly Regional Training Conferences Offered for Birthing Hospitals
In July, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi (BCBSMS) Maternity held a statewide collaboration meeting to outline the Quality Model that supports the Women’s Health Initiative. A structural component of the quality model is the achievement of Baby-Friendly designation for Network Hospitals. To help Mississippi hospitals achieve Baby-Friendly designation, BCBSMS is proud to co-sponsor three Baby-Friendly Regional Training Conferences with Community and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices (CHAMPS).
The first Baby-Friendly Regional Training Conference for birthing hospitals will be held in the northern region of the state at North Mississippi Medical Center Auditorium on September 11, 2015, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants will receive continuing education credit through the Mississippi State Department of Health for attending the Baby-Friendly Regional Training Conference. Lunch will be provided at the conference for all registered participants.
CHAMPS will train participants on how to provide a quality delivery experience and the steps to take to encourage a healthy mother-child bond from the beginning. CHAMPS will also address common implementation challenges and share strategies to facilitate success within each unique organization. BCBSMS has invited all Network hospitals in the northern region, encouraging them to send a team of staff to the conference with representation from administration, neonatology, pediatrics, obstetrics, service line administration, lactation specialists and nursing. Attendees must be affiliated with a birthing hospital. If you have questions about attendance please contact Suzanne Greer at firstname.lastname@example.org or 601-664-5436.
We look forward to seeing teams from all our northern region CHAMPS hospitals at this critical conference!
